Every southern hemisphere Spring, these magnificent fish congregate along the outer edges of the Great Barrier Reef between Cairns and Lizard Island to spawn. Anglers from all over the world travel to this tropical paradise to battle with the ultimate game fish, females weighing up to a massive 600kgs (1,300lbs). Mixed in are an abundance of the male 'rats' which weigh up to 160kgs (350lbs).

The sight of a fish in excess of 1,000lb jumping on the end of your line is a jaw dropping thrill that has to be experienced to be appreciated!
